Rant! people who hate specific breeds!
to me a breed of horse is the last thing that anyone should worry about, and people who are like ‘tb’s are the best and take so much more skill than wb’s’ do my head in, because every horse is a individual and people shouldnt stereotype breeds.
i have a 7 year old wb, and hes a lot harder than any other OTTB ive ever ridden, and i understand how inexperienced people going from perfectly trained wb’s to tb’s causes a problem and it annoys me too, but im a firm believer that horses should be classes as a individual and not because of what breed they are!

I didn’t realize Parklane Hawke is an OTTB, the winning horse at Rolex with William Fox Pitt. Apparently, he is a New Zealand Thoroughbred who raced until he was 7. He was one of twenty other horses competing at Rolex that was off the track.
It’s incredible what people could do if they gave these hard working horses another chance.
yeh, you hardly see wb’s at that level purely because they don’t have the natural speed and stamina that thoroughbreds do which is needed, not bashing wb’s as i own and event one :P but i agree i do love it when a OTTB wins, seems like more of a achievement as these horses have had to be retaught :)
